Freshmen Drew Viney Leaves Program

Drew Viney has decided to leave the program and play his next three years of his college basketball career elsewhere.

"Drew asked for his release and we have granted his request," said head coach Ernie Kent. "It’s always tough when a player departs your program, but I respect his decision and understand his desire to continue his career closer to home. Drew did a good job for us this season."

Viney's freshmen season was expected to be key for the Ducks as a possible 6th man but was brought to a halt with an injury to his foot after the first game of the season. Viney was expected to challenge for a starting role next year with the loss of this season's senior class.

Check back for more news on this transfer and also the effects it will play on the Oregon program.
