All Mike Bellotti Special Teams

With the NFL Draft still in the minds of Oregon Fans and NFL fans, Ducks Attack decided to come up with a team of Ex-Ducks that would be the best at their position while Head Coach Mike Bellotti has been coaching the Ducks.

The players don't have to be drafted to make the team but you will notice most were drafted or made the NFL as an undrafted free agent.

Punter- Josh Bidwell

Bidwell was the most reliable kicker in the Mike Bellotti era. A master at kicking deep kicks with high airtime and pinning offenses inside the 20.

Kicker- Nathan Villegas

Reliable, consistent, and clutch for the Ducks in the late 1990s.

Punt Returner- Keenan Howry

Images of the rain pouring down on Autzen Stadium against the Beavs in 2001 still linger in my mind. With the Beavers about to punt the rain halts just long enough for Howry to split right through the middle of the coverage and take it back for a TD. Howry made big return after big return for the Ducks.

Kick Returner- Jonathan Stewart

Stewart was one of the nation's most dangerous kick returners for all three years at Oregon. Top ten in return yards all three years he returned or while he was returning that year.

Gunner- Michael Fletcher

I can still hear the hit he placed on the Stanford returner that had the player drop to the floor motionless. One of the best hitters on the team and on all special teams.

Villegas was solid no doubt, but jered Segel coming through against USC was was one of the most clutch moments in history. Not to mention he was a FRESHMEN.

A 4 year starter that holds the record for the longest feild goal, and honeys pulled. Jered Segel No Doubt

Frankel would win the honeys pulled contest hands down and Frankel made the winning kick in the multiple OT game at Autzen that Villegas was hurt in. That said, I think Jared was Oregon's best kicker in the MB era. Matt Belden may have won it had he not been injured and had his career ruined though.

I'd agree that Segel was the better kicker. And you have to remember Michael Fletcher also returned punts, and was absolutely fearless in doing so.
