Duck Coaches Visit Prized Recruit In North Carolina

The Oregon Duck coaching staff has made it a clear effort to start recruiting nationally and to make serious runs at landing some of the nation's best recruits.

The Duck staff has once again made contact with another big time recruit this past Thursday with a visit to Gastonia, NC to see prized prep WR Jheranie Boyd (6-3 185) according to Palmettosports.com.

Boyd, a four star recruit has over 20 offers steaming from the entire eastern seaboard all the way back to the Pac-10 on the west coast was visited by Southern Cal and Oregon this week along with a large group of east coast schools.

Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest are all known offers.

Boyd has a top 10 in mind but will not announce that top ten until later in the summer.

It is unclear if Boyd has an offer but it is strange to see the coaches fly all the way back east to have an visit with the recruit and his family and not end up offering.

As a junior last fall Boyd posted 45 catches for 1100 yards and 11 touchdowns.
